I'm A Copycat !

He got 7 bloodworm down him !! Good lad ! Still lurking around the back today, but at least he's feeding.

Got to decide whether I just need to be patient and let him settle in more or is it really not going to work out ?

Want to do the right thing.

Give it a week or two to make a good decision, you should be able to tell then! Hopefully it will be the right choice for you and eric! LOL 7 worms go on my son!

Keep an eye on him for a while if he gets skinny or pinched put him in a hospital tank and go from there. Since you have researched extensively I'm behind you're adventure keep us up to date

Come on goat if we all get a slow clap going maybe Eric will hear us! All together on 3!

I would be watch the tank like a hawk. My guess is the other fish are pushing him around. My little guy is 2.5 ich and is the boss of him adopted brothers (the festivum) so since he is top fish he is out going and not shy. I can't wait to get more. Throw all the big guys the new tank. Then make your 80 gal discus tank just like me ;)

It certainly has crossed my mind that that may be happening. It's just really strange that he was doing so well until yesteday afternoon, and then has hardly been seen since. he really was becoming very confident up until that point. It WAS all going so well.

I have certainly thought about it. But I know that Bruce , the male Sev, bullies the uaru. It's just in his character. He's VERY territorial.
If I put the sevs in the 130 with the uaru and filled the 80 up with discus, and then it all went bad in the 130, then I would have nowhere to put the sevs, without getting rid of over £100 worth of discus.
Difficult decisions. I'm was actually getting quite attached to Eric too. I've noticed that discus are way more interesting, behaviour-wise, in tanks at home than they are in shop tanks (even nice ones with plants etc.).

not sure what to suggest as when i added my first he was the biggest and there was only him some danios and tetra in there

it does sound like he has had a run in with others

Is Eric a discus? It costs 100 pound for a discus . Glad I moved to the states

do you mean you paid £100 for a 4 inch discus? im not sayin this to belittle you or make you feel silly, more to stop you getting ripped off.......... but seriously thats easliy twice what he should of cost you.

he means that if he had a tank full of discus and the sevs didnt get on he would have to sell the discus to move the sevs

He meant if he filled his 80g with Discus, that would be around £100 worth.

He said Eric cost £30 earlier on :good:

See, IMO keeping just one discus DOES NOT sound good.

DITO. VERY important to keep them in groups. They shoal in the hundreds in the wild.. It would be like keeping Tetras singly, just isn't nice..

You say you researched.. Where? Obviously not the right places because anyone who says to keep them singly doesn't know what they are talking about.

Keeping a single Discus would be like keeping an Oscar in a 20 gallon, just isn't ideal and IMHO a little cruel :/
