with this tropical weather, I swear I saw a greenish parakeet, or small parrot, on the line fence outside the other day… maybe an escapee from someone’s cage in a house??? but it’s not a bird I’ve ever see in the wild around here…

We have them in Manchester. Strange seeing such a colourful bird in a dim city scene.

We just got 5.25” of rain in 24 hrs on already saturated ground. Standing water is everywhere. It’s the wettest summer in the last 15-20 years for sure. Luckily, my basement is dry with the sump pump going off every 53 seconds atm  Yep….I have backup pumps and a house generator if needed. Gotta keep the fish room going and insect room and basement dry if we should lose power.

I feel like Zeus, Odin and the cold currents of the Bay of Fundy are smiling on me. We're having a weird summer with a lot of rain, but not excessively so. The forecasts threatened great heat today, and we got 25c. Quite reasonable.
I wouldn't call it a great summer so far. The night time temperatures have been absurdly low, and the daytime has struggled to reach 20c/68f. It's been a cool one, with June feeling like May, and the warm period just arriving in July. But a cool summer compared to the scenarios a lot of my friends are dealing with is nothing. It's fine.
Being an optimist, I'm expecting the other shoe to drop. Snow in July. Floods, Plagues of locusts. Taylor Swift and the hubby buying the house next door. Nor'easter gales galore.

No clouds in the sky today but I did spot the Endeavour in port. It appears the original is still afloat and even has a diesel motor :dunno:
Ah, That's a beautiful picture. I miss the sea. Someday I want to live near the ocean, or perhaps one of the Great Lakes, and learn to sail. ⛵ 🏴‍☠️ For now, I'm still too in love with Wyoming.

The HOT weather has finally arrived here on the banks of The Mighty Yellowstone River . Temperatures are going to be well above 100 this weekend and in the high 90’s and low 100’s all next week . I am exulting !
You can have my share! I like 60s and 70s. Much above that and I'm looking for a sprinkler to run through.

@WhistlingBadger The heat doesn’t last long here in the Rocky Mountain West . Won’t be long and fall will be here and then winter and a long seven months of grey gloomy and cold days . The wind will blow and you’ll slip on the ice and you’ll wish you had just one day of this . But you , you gotta be getting excited about hunting season . It’s just around the corner now . Like preseason NFL .
