Hmm, I have a blue shovel that may soon be haloed in blue air as I dig out knee to hip deep drifts. The winds are still violent, and it's hard to tell if snow is falling intermittently or coming back up off the ground. It's cold enough that there is a lot of wet powder.

That was one of the wildest blizzards I've seen in many years. Here, it was luckily only about 16 hours, and for 12 of those, visibility bordered on zero. But we didn't lose power and the winds that sounded like a freight train didn't wake us up too often.

I hope everyone south of here didn't lose power, and that all is well considering.

We’re supposed to get a damaging windstorm tomorrow . Those have been frequent around here lately and we’ve never had them much before . We had one this past Sunday and a neighbor with one of those older 1970’s model single wide mobile homes lost his roof . The wind peeled it back like opening a sardine can . Up in Great Falls Montana a school lost its roof and large 18 wheel trucks were blown onto their sides . It’s scary to be in too . I don’t like it at all . I can’t even imagine what a tornado would be like and I don’t want to know .

Crazy, isn't it? The past two days broke records--we hit 80F day before yesterday--and now this?

It is windier than crudmuffins here. Indoor recess all day (I guess they're scared the kids might blow away and never be seen again...or maybe get hit by flying debris). Indoor recess days are not a ton of fun for anybody at an elementary school. Seems like pretty much everybody is either a jumping bean or a zombie today. And that's just the teachers.

We got through the windstorm yesterday . It was horrible ! Sustained winds of 50 - 60 MPH occasionally gusting to over 70 . That gives me anxiety . I go from window to window looking out to see what might be about to blow away or be blown to smithereens . It’s very nerve wracking . This morning I woke up to four inches of wet snow and no wind . Really glad to be past that windstorm .

It was 80F so I ordered fish from Dan. Next week when the fish arrive the temperature will range between 20-30F. Just can’t win.

Been there. But this time I got uncharacteristically lucky. I ordered from Wetspot last week and it arrived on our last 80F day. Next morning there was snow.

They're not for me; a gift for a cousin's upcoming big birthday. He's admired my Pethia setnai (the fish I entered in last month's FOTM) so I got him a school of 10. I normally don't gift fish, but was confident he would be happy and he was. Very.
