Lily Rose Tank No. 2

It looks like this tank is progressing nicely. Keep up whatever you are doing with it. It is doing far better than your first tank in my opinion.

Seems good that we're seeing things happen in this tank. It occurred to me that if the first line of these reportings had xL(volume) Tank then we'd get used to which of your two tanks we're discussing at the moment (its probably just me, I live a crazy life with hundreds of things going here at the university and 10 or 20 beginner tank cases going on here so my mind is about as messy as my offices, lol) WD

It has always said on the heading at the topic line that this is the 90L Tank No2. lol I dont know how to changew the topic line subject

 guess its not for nothing I get called the "absent minded..." by my kids

To answer your earlier question. If you've been reducing your dosing to 2 or 3ppm during the nitrite spike phase (and that's a good optimization thing to do in my opinion) and then see the tank showing that it has come out of the spike phase then what I ideally like to do is to slowly ease it back up to 5ppm.. ie. a couple days at 3ppm, then a couple at 4ppm or something like that but there's no data of course to support that there's anything wrong with just bopping it right back up to 5ppm immediately and I can't see that hurting anything whatsoever so its probably just me yakking. Its near impossible to distinguish between 4ppm and 5ppm (with the API kit anyway) so that part is just a hunch (the only serious part of which is making sure there's no chance you are up at 8ppm, which as we know is too high!)

5ppm is always the finishing amount you want to use to glide into the end of the fishless cycle. It helps to ensure some really nice robust colonies!

Hello there guys, well you're gonna kill me but I gave in and bought 6 platys. so now I'm doing a fish in cycle. my levels are amm 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10 pH 7.4 levels remain the same at 10pm

If there's one thing that characterizes Jayne, she's spontaneous. Well, 6 may not be so bad, are they about an inch? Six inches in a 90L may do ok finishing out since you had already had a short nitrite spike but it wasn't lasting. You'll have to keep a close eye with twice a day testing. Are they all orange with black tails?
