Are those Betta fish male or females?

They look like females, but I wouldn't put them together. One can go crazy.

have a look at their ovipositor (where they poop from). females have a white ovipositor and males have a dark one.

male Betta splendens have a black flap of skin under their gills and is commonly called a beard. females don't have that.

I wouldn't put them together regardless. If your going to try a betta sorority (a group a female bettas), then you need a big tank, more than two females, and some other peaceful schooling fish.

I personally wouldn't put them together. If you want to do a sorority, you need a bigger tank. Talk to @Deanasue, if you want to go through with that.

Please don’t put them together. As already mentioned, you need a group of females to put them together. I use to have a female sorority and the ladies always picked in each other. They were always stressed and all ended up dying.
