  • Please tell me if you think I should not get a particular kind of shrimp/fish. :) I plan to get around 2 cory catfish, around 3 or 4 neon tetras and 4 or 5 platys. I've read that they may be a bit crowded in a 10 gal tank...but other people say that they will do just fine.
    What do you think?
    Thank you.

No neon tetras, Cory catfish, or platys.

I would keep it as just a snail/shrimp tank. I used to have one, it was fun to watch. Get around 10 cherry shrimp and 1-2 Nerite snails to start out with. :)

    No problem!
I'm hoping to add 1 or 2 cherry shrimp and 1 or 2 ghost shrimps, maybe a bumblebee shrimp but I need to do more research on them - eg. what temperature they need.
I've read up on all these fish snails and shrimp and I think they are all fine together, but I would just like to check with someone who I know has experience.
    :)

I used to keep around 15-20 cherry shrimp in my 10g. I would start out with around 10, as they breed fast. My Nerite snail is fine with my shrimp, so aggression.
    Hi.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask a question but I think you are pretty knowledgeable about shrimps so...
I got a tank just under 10gal with a heater. I've started to cycle it, and after I do I want to begin to add fish, snails and shrimp.
The fish I'm probably having in my tank are Platys, Neon Tetras and maybe Cory catfish. I might also have a snail.

    continued...

Neon tetras need a bigger tank than just a 10g. So do Cory catfish.

Yep. Changed my avatar. Instead of a picture of someone else's fish it’s now my own fish that's in my own tank. I feel more legit now. A real aquarist instead of a poser.
Your contest tank for October looks very nice and your comments show that you have learned from people's advice. Keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks man! I really hope I win, I have entered the same tank over 4 times, and not won a thing, lol.
Those three Bettas are unbelievable. Little town I live in , you never see that. I've only ever seen fish like that in pictures. Nice to know that some lucky duck actually has one. Or three in this case.

Have you voted for the TOTM contest yet? If not, please vote! ;)
I do know one thing about Airsoft. Guys that are into it are REALLY into it. Several years ago a bunch of kids That work where I do went to some big Airsoft competition where it was a D-Day reenactment. They said some guys from Georgia had a tank they made and were an infantry unit. They said there were 300 guys in this thing. But this time the Germans won.

Yes! A MILSIM. Very fun stuff. I have never been to one, but it isn’t a lot of fun. There was once a MILSIM in Europe that had 1,500+ airsofters, and it lasted for 3 days! Crazy Hu?
