So Overnight I Became A Father?

glad you got it sorted, i would go for a 30ltr min for the fry but if you can afford it, like above, 10gals (bigger the better, grow stunting etc)

bi-orbs aren't that good, arcadia arks are good. Seapets.co.uk tend to have some good offers on :good:

think fry drop is around 2 - 10 for live bearers

pets at home do that rectangular tank range, which is pretty cheap, although, i dunno if they sell the lids with them.

or i have a 60ltr, that i would like to sell

No it isn't.

Edit: well that's not strictly true. For some livebearers, particularly young females of some species you'd not expect more than single figures of fry. But most of the common livebearers give birth to many many fry.

She does look quite small... but we'd need a before shot to be sure.

As for the grow out tank... please don't buy a biorb, and pretty please get at least a 10gal. The average fry drop will be significantly larger than 8-11 fry. Get yourself a bog standard rectangular tank, trust me... soooo much better than a biorb. Apart from anything else (and there are many drawbacks) the curved surface makes catching fish a nightmare!

What area are you in? I could try helping sort through classifieds and ebay if you want? I enjoy shopping for other people  :D
Give me a price and an area and I'll hopefully in undate you with possible tanks.

For some reason I mistook 10gal for 10L

I'm going to take a look at some 60L aquariums which should put me in good standing. And on your advice have ruled out the biorbs
:good:

for guppies it is,not at first but eventually. although, no males so fingers crossed in 6 months time..

10 is normally the bare minimum for guppies. And that's at the extremes of the scale... so either very young or very old.

ohh i dunno, my cousin's guppies, 1 had 30 odd at one point, i remember it well as she rang me up in a panic at 1am

Lol... you know deep down it's only going end up being a permenant tank in the future anyways... in a few months time when all your females have exhausted their sperm stores
Not that any of us would every dream of trying to get you to buy more fish/tanks or anything

nope, they wouldn't do that  not like i was convinced to upgrade from a 30ltr to a 60 to a 125 in the space of 4 months

Yup

I've been looking and can't find anything. Don't care about the stand because I really don't plan on keeping the aqurium active once the fry have been raised safely.

So any aquariums in the London area you deem suitable please post
:good:

I live in North London but have family in east and south/south west London so if something came up close by I could get them to get it for me.

I drive also so basically London
:good:

*Edit*

Looking on ebay and every single auction has a dried out boxed up filter arghhhh lol

offer still stands, my 60ltr with heater, no filter for £35, up to you but you'll most prob ignore this

edit: actually, you can have it for free, want rid of it after this week with the loss i;ve had

Cheers but I have a bead on a few aquariums I might buy. I'm going to weight my options then decide :good:
