My first ever tank!

So it seems that they are liking the current. The sponge filter you pictured is a nice option as it has the ceramic media areas that you can seed with the BB already in your HOB.
***sorry, you have an internal filter...lol***

(I don't know what type of media is in the current filter) take the ceramic media from the internal filter (in the picture) and place it into the old internal filt media chamber. I would take a little seeded media out of the old internal filter media chamber to encourage new bacteria to grow on the new media
BB will grow to fit the amount of BB that your tank needs-never in excess.

it's a sponge inside the filter, maybe cut it up in small pieces and chuck them in the new chamber with some ceramics too?

Tank update! Got the 15 neos, 5 black sakura (1 was dead sadly :( ), 5 black rili and 5 blue velvet!
Also added some catappa leaves and a chunk of coral (opposites but eh cute and won't affect ph too much)
I also replanted the Limnophila sessiliflora (let's hope it doesn't melt away this time) and also added some Marsilea Hirsuta to the front right!

Looks good! The shrimp seller didn't add 1 or 2 extra in case of DOA?

My first group of neos had a big die-off in the first few weeks. The change of environment was a big factor. It's a shame when these shrimp die unexpectedly

Could this shrimp have scutariella japonica or vorticella? it's swimming and eating okay, It's too small to take better pics hahaha

Looks like Scutariella japonica! My neo tank is full of them sadly. I did try salt dips on affected shrimp, but it quickly multiplied out of control, so I just let them live with the shrimp now.

These have been the best pics I've managed to capture. They are very small parasites.

Ohhh :( have you ever tried Praziquantel (API General Cure)? I've read somewhere it works but idk
Could SERA MED PROFESSIONAL TREMAZOL work? It's the only thing available in Spain...
Edit: I'll try to tediously get all the infected ones today and put them in a salt dip (30gr/L of pure sea salt)
