i used to have 8 inch clown loaches which were worth alot but i got them free i've seen 5inch 1's sell for £50 each

I gather there's a market. My LFS says they would be more than glad to take them off my hands if they get too big. I think they are about four inches.

erm, can't remember every purchase but I think it's likely my most expensive single fish is my royal plec for £30 the other week.

but i'm spending £500 this weekend on a new tank, equipment, van hire to get it etc if that makes u feel better..... that makes £1100 just on initial set up of tanks and equipment, lord only knows how much else on upgrading equipment etc.

also my electric bill comes in at £40 a month!!

god that's scary when u think about it

he's still young, only about 6/7 inches..... getting him a massive corner tank to grow big and strong in!!!

I keep trying to find ways to bring it down.

I like it cool. I sleep during the day. Much over 60 degrees f., and I can't sleep. This winter I didn't use any heat. The tanks kept the aptartment about 72-75 f. I have to use the air conditioner just to keep it under 75 now. I have lowered the thermostats, but then I feel guilty and raise them for a day or two. I walk around in a gooey sweat and lower it again.

Does he eat from your fingers or just eat your fingers? We have an Orange at work that draws blood if he's baited. (A boys' group home.)

Told my mum that and she nearly had a heart attack, her house is about 4 times the size of mine but my bills are well over double hers

I just bought a proven breeding colony of 13 zebra plecos (5 fry came with them)- paid just under $275 each per fish- fry were a bonus.

Yeah! It's a lovely and expensive hobby. I'm still trying to find a good balance.

its is expensive and only gets more with time, /me has just fallen to the OMT Syndrome lol

I have a small hex tank that I had 3 syno' Niger's in it. So went to the local pet shop, just to look about, I left spending £60 on a new 15gallon tank. lol. need to work out where to put the old hex tank now, as I have no room.

As for heating my room, my radiator doesn't work for some random reason, but the tanks keep the room nicely warm. so that 2 15gallon, 1 4gallon (breeding) tank and 1 small frog tank in my room, my room is only about 11'x10' (about) and I have mirror wardrobes, a double bed sized sofa bed, my two guitars (on stands) and several computers, plus several empty cases, and I have a massive work top going round the outside of the room, I have about 3 square foot to walk in lol... oh well.

haven't told my mum that I bought a new tank, yet, she'll go mad. lmao, I'm 23 and still have to hide stuff from her lmao!!!

but my new plec, and the syno's have a new bigger home.
