Ian's Lounge Tank

Great looking tank & set-up and excellent attention to detail.

How old is the tank as you have "re-scaped" it, interest to know if the lights are the original T8's or the T5's and what tubes are you using.

sorry guys, i have been really busy of late and didn't get back to the questions. Thanks for the compliments!

is that a lone RCS?

Theres about 15 in there, they are all hiding in the rocks.

The tank is just over a year old, the old layout is in my profile. The lighting unit is the T5 juwel unit, the Juwel bulbs have been replaced with 2 JBL Nature 9000k bulbs.

here are a couple of more pics...lol, this ones just for reference

Awesome! :good:

This just keeps getting better and better. Look at that HC!

very nice Ian

cherry barbs are great I put 5 in my sons RCS tank and they have come on leaps and bounds in last 6 weks and the colours are lovely. Very underated fish :good:

Thanks guys!

I'm gonna aim to get a decent vid up later. The Hc has really settled down now. It's turned to its submerged form. As for the Cherry barbs, they are really nice looking fish. They have some mature ones on my LFS display tank and they are really stunning little fish. llj has a nice pic of one in her profile...

Agreed, I had 36 in my 36g at one time. Had a pair that kept breeding and I raised the fry. It really was terrible losing them all to ich, and that was with quaranteen. My males would be blood red.

here's a quick vid...mainly of the occupants, new and old ;)

ignore the snoring dog!

A lovely mixture of colours in there now. Red's in the Cherry's, blue's in the Cardinal's & plenty of green! Anymore thoughts on the next possible occupants?

James.

did you watch it til the end James??

I was expecting at least a...
I've got some Keyhole's
on a post somewhere

Well a wise choice I must say, a great fish.

James.

i just hope they don't touch my Hc carpet, if they do they ARE going straight back to the LFS. They are just settling in at the moment and appear to be getting on well.

I can't see the video for some reason. Says format is unsupported. Will try later when I'm on my laptop.

Ooooo, cichlids. Careful with that HC, especially if they start digging around when breeding...

well...they (Keyholes) went back to LFS this afternoon, they were really digging around the Hc. I have trimmed the Hc and its still spreading nicely.

here a couple of pics
Lileopsis is starting to spread out nicely

Pogostemon is starting to get leggy

I told you...

Some cichlids work with planted tanks others don't. If you really want cichlids, small rams or Angelfish will be your best bet if you want to reduce the possibility of them poking around & breaking the HC. Not saying keyholes wouldn't work, just not with HC.

Tank looks great. The helferi looks fine to me. Not super leggy at all.
