At What Point Do You Ask For Help

It asks for tank size but I think we need to know if its us or uk gallons and we also need the dimensions as tank shape plays a lot with some fish we al so need to know when the tank was set up For example I bought a tank yeaterday I could have put fish in straight away (I didn't) next week I could have a major problem but I might have done a water change the day before.

Oh would it be worth asking if there is a filter in the tank and what type number of times people don't have a filter or one too small or too large.

I agree about trying to cure your fish and doing it as early as possible BUT

I am not going to spend £20 to say cure a neon tetra which is about 50-75p, If I have the meds here then sure Ill treat them but if its not going to affect the rest of my fish and its going to cost me 200% or more of what the fish is worth I probally wont cure it....

Sorry If that sounds mean but its truth...

Tis about a comment a member made and made me chuckle quite alot so I added it to my sig and makes me laugh everytime I see it

Haha yeh, funny guy with his goldies in a tank the size of a crisp packet with no filter :p

Anyways...

I usually ask for help or advise before I do any major thing with my aquariums, I've kept tanks before but it's been in the 70's when all was so much different. It's funny that things that worked fine back in the 70's won't work now, but I guess that's progression in equipment and such.

Revised form

What comes next? Either 1) Somone would have to compile a huge database and use this format as a queery (alot of hours work) OR 2) Its sent to some poor bugger whos got to spend there time telling noobs they've got whitespot :p

Hehe, its a good form :) hope you implement it accordingly.

MODS:- Is there anyway this form could be used so that you can write text over it?

I was thinking of using it on an individual basis.

Emma

Maybe a self diagnosis flow chart would be in order then?

Good idea Helen!

Obviously a few catagories...... Swimming, Skin problems etc

ie

Does fish have spots
l l
yes
l l

you get the idea.......

It would easily be made as an image and pasted into a thread and pinned.

Then if someone still can't find the answer, they can ask
