Amazon 55 Gallon Aquarium - Dirt And Plants!

Eggs look like Cory eggs, although I could be wrong. Normally Angels would clean them all off very well and not leave a mess behind like that.
Its also not uncommon for corys to spawn on the glass at the top of the tank so most likely them :)

Cory eggs are generally very round, looking like little tapioca beads.

More like this:

Not sure what those eggs are - they are rather irregularly shaped.

They're still cory eggs. That's just what they look like when fish suck the good stuff out of them.

I've never seen that before... Good to know.

Well I knew that the cories had been spawning, so I am not surprised that it might have been cory eggs. I was surprised that they were so far up the glass. Silly cories. I have never had any egg-laying fish that have bred before so I am very inexperienced! Thanks!

Oh, yes.  The females will swim all over to find a spot she likes to place the eggs.

I was graced with the treat of watching my cories spawn yesterday, and the eggs are indeed cory eggs. It was not however the angels that were eating the eggs but the lemon tetra.. Who would have thought! I got a video of one of my albino corydora with her eggs held between her fins. Very cool! I did see her and the male going at it, but I wasn't quick enough with my phone to get that too.

Very cool... With this weather, it will probably happen again.

If you're not fully stocked, and you like plecos a nice small one are l134s, kind of rare though. Very cheap compared to others though.

So that awful blurry pic of the angels I posted a while ago wondering about eggs and I suspected that those two were a pair? THEY STARTED LAYING EGGS TOGETHER. I was right! Hahahaha! They have a rather decent sized spawn on one of the larger leaves of my amazon sword! I'm very excited. I have a video of some of their egg laying/fertilization.

Definitely watching this. I had a discus tank when I left college and came back to one angel and two catfish, now I'm going in the same direction as you, angels, cories, and a schooler (though I'm not being picky about location haha, just need something that's nice and can take a beating when I'm not here)
When I came back my amazons went beserk, whole tank was a green mass with little flower bunches sticking up haha.

How are you doing your soil?

And for hatchets you 1000% need a closed top, they might be okay for a month or two but they'll start jumping eventually.

Hope college went well

For soil I did a (thick) inch of Organic Miracle Grow Potting Soil and a (also thick) inch of pool filter sand. I've had some diatoms, but nothing I'm too upset about, and some algae on my plants (a pain in the butt but nothing more). It's good and the plants LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I've had crazy growth and my swords are going insane. Hopefully my dwarf sagg will get the hint soon... You have to spend some time making sure you have the sand cap on evenly and make sure you don't have any thin spots. I had a problem with this (resolved for the most part) and a lot of the woodier parts of my potting mix came up from underneath. It's a pain and something you don't want to deal with. I didn't add anything special because of both budget and I believe that soil provides most of the essentials. If you have any more specific questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

As far as hatchets go, my LFS is limited in what it can get in and the last batch of hatchets (10 in all) had absolutely NO will to live and keeled over slightly after arrival. I work at the shop so I know it was just stress from shipping.

Poor fish. If we can get in a batch that can make it in the shop for a week I'll put them in my tank, but until that I'm not too worried about anything jumping out.

And college is going swimmingly.

Only 1000 more years of sweat and toil until I can join the workforce.

did you go to a pool store nearby or did you order the sand? and I tried to set up a mineralized substrate when i first began but by the time the soil was ready my mom used it by accident, so i still have phosphates, dolomite and clay lying around along with traditional ferts, im thinking about just soaking it once to get the wood bits out (since itd be nice to avoid pains lol) and putting in the additives while its still wet.

granted I'll probably have to get a lot more plants than i do now, they're huge but there are maybe 8 huge plants and some crypts that somehow did not die (my argentinian sword before i cut it all back had leaves sticking a good foot out of the top of the tank)

the hatchets were awesome while I had them, I didnt figure putting a lid because the plants were growing beautifully and they were behaving, then I leave and any news I got from the tank was fish dying. thankfully my dad takes care of the marine tank at least haha.

and I feel your pain! freshman year is done and all I have left is the other 3 and graduate school, I'm in architecture and my bed time was either never or 4am
