Depends which species, those commonly found i LFS wont.
 
I would think a feather fin, synodontis eupterus, would have a go.
 
Mine doesn't, my featherfin wont even eat baby guppies or whitebait :rolleyes: .

But then it probably varies from fish to fish. I think it's fairly safe to say that if you keep a large syno with small tetras, there's a large chance you'll get a fish which will go for them.
 
Ahh, yeah, mine love prawns and meaty stuff, although I haven't tried them on white bait...They're also very territorial.
 
My synodontis lived quite happily alongside smaller fish until he got to about six or eight inches. Then the tetras started disappearing...
