Wood!

I am looking for some striking wood for my tank. At great disappointment, i have had to take out the big hollow bogwood which you can see in the first photo as it was blocking CO2 flow, and light! All the plants near it died off! It also NEVER sunk without all the hideous rocks tied to it!

Anyway, in the second photo you can see what i just replaced it with.... but it was a lot smaller than i expected! I want something similar, to replace, or go along with this. I love the fish swimming through al the spiny bits, rather than having one big lump of wood! Ideally it would have at least some of it reaching up to about 18 inches in height!

Where can i find such things? Currently TheGreenMachine sell bits by photographs....but nothing else there quite like what i need ...and they are expensive compared to Ebay where there is a fair amount of different bits...but nothing that fills my boots so far. So, where else sells wood by photographs?

I was/am after a similar bit of wood as you and a similar size, my lfs informed me any bits that show up that match what we are after are snapped up by the lfs staff before it even hits the shop floor

See if you can get some Sumatra wood (distributed by Unipack I think).
It looks like sunken roots or branches.

Very nice for Discus and Angels.

Lol, ok so nix the lfs. Sorry, maybe craig's list is only north american? So I haven't helped you out at all then. Hmmm, how are your rivers and lakes? I know loads of people that have found some very stunning pieces of wood that way.

It's hit and miss with wood sometimes, you nay have to wait weeks for that special piece you are after, or possibly create something similar to what you wanted by using several smaller pieces of wood arranged together. Good luck

Post in the classified section? I did and just after I bought some wood, somebody asked me if I wanted to buy their bogwood, which was 100 times better!
