I once had a close encounter of the worst kind with a Goshawk.
I was in my bed when I head a very loud sound of glass breaking. A moment later I head a second sound of glass breaking. I got up to investigate.
I have an enclosed porch with 12 awning style windows. I went to the kitchen door window of enclosed porch and saw a huge Goshawk inside the porch frantically trying to get out. Two windows were broken. I took a stick and went out to the porch and pushed open one of the awning windows and the Goshawk flew out. Whewwww!
The Goshawk had evidently flew and crashed into one of the windows, breaking it and it ended up inside the porch and was flying into the window glass while trying to fly out. I let out a sigh of relief once I chased it out of the porch after I opened the window. Cost to repair the glass on the 2 awning windows was $200. It was not a fun day.
