Who Doesn't Eat Fish?

Just a curious questions really, I know all of us on here love our fish! I know I do anyway!! I would do whatever I could to make them happier!!!

Does anyone find it weird eating fish because it would be like eating your own fish...

I go fishing to catch my own fish for tea sometimes (I sound like i'm living in the jungle or something haha).
Never thought about it while i've been eating one though.. i might now though

I guess it's kind of different as it's not a fish that you've fell in love with like a fish in your tank,
although we do like to see fish happy (If that makes sense?).

But think of it like this, if you've got a big cichlid or something - you might possibly feed that live fish?

There has been a couple of thread on this lately.

Personally I don't think twice about eating fish. I try to avoid anything that hasn't been line caught, but other than that... it's really no different to me eating any other meat. I can't prize one animal over another.

I also never understand why people screw their faces up at the thought of milk from any animal other than a cow. lol. 90% of people I mention it to (somehow it tends to come up in conversation lol), screw their face up and go 'eurgh, I don't now how you could drink goats milk' or 'eurgh, who would ever drink camels milk'. I was like... seriously... Seriously that is genuinely your opinion?
Some people honestly do just bumble through life never questioning anything lol! At first I didn't believe it when on TV they were questions people about 'what goes into a sausage', 'where bacon comes from' etc etc.
And the ignorance of some people that then kick up a fuss about other things. Like 'Oh it's ok to eat a cow but not a 'insert animal here''

I like to eat fish from the frozen section of asda haha but god know what percentage of fish that is! I can't say iv really thought of it I don't eat fish that often, maybe even once a month but I remember when I went for a meal with my girlfriends sister for her sisters birthday she ordered the posh looking fish on the menu and when it came it still had it's head on! Well that was It for her meal, she couldn't eat it because of the face. So in the end I think it just got picked at, and other people ate most of it which seemed A - a waste of a fish and meal B - a waste of money as it was not cheap!

Next time I think she will remember, and not to order the fish dish, with a fancy appetising name!! I was pleased I sticked with the beef Lazagne! Cant go wrong!

It's amazing what you can get from the fresh fish section in asda though but i wouldn't know where to start cooking ti!!

Doesn't bother me, I have a pet budgie but eat poultry but I am a butcher so I've got somewhat blasé about it all.

And just with regards to what sense fail said. I know what you mean about the fish counter! At my local tesco (which is MASSIVE), they have a large fish counter with one of the biggest Tuna on it that you've ever seen. Haven't a clue how long it takes them to sell something like that... but there was a good 100 peoples worth of fish there! And some of the other stuff... I know what you mean about cooking it though. I don't eat enough fish to know how to prepare and cook it well. I tend to stick to the frozen prepared stuff. And like I said, I try to buy line caught were possible.

I don't really eat fish but i just don't really like the flavour/texture more than anything. I grew up on a farm so i regularly saw animals i had looked after/bottle fed go to kill and never really had any issue with it.

The whole fish with the head and all really freaks me out, I expect it to turn around and sing 'don't worry be happy' to me! hahaha! The only fish I eat are fish fingers
I jsut always wondered if anyone found it weird! Obviously some countries eat dogs and I would never touch any dog, whether it was bred to be eaten or not, it just wouldn't be right in my eyes!

i unfortunately work for tesco, and you'd be quite shocked to see what gets thrown out because its too old to sell. i dont know what they do with the large whole fish on the counter. as you say who wants to buy a whole 2 foot tuna ? before xmas we had whole cod in, as long as my arm. who needs that ? maybe these big fish get filleted and split up later in the day ? whole salmon i can just about understand, but its not cheap.

anybody see that fish program with hugh fearnly whittingstall last night ? bringing up the point of how reliant we are on cod tuna and salmon was quite interesting. nobody thinks to eat any of the other hundreds of type of fish that are eadible, cheaper and more plentiful. absolutely bizzarre ? ym dad used to go sea fishign attempting to catch cod. in my 25 years ive seen one , though to be fair when put in the sink the head and tail stuck out above the counter. but he usually catches whiting and plaice, and its glorious. i actually prefer him bringing whiting home, i can get cod from the shops.

I will eat any type of seafood - I love it. The problem is there isn't much variety in the shops

I love fish and eat it a lot. But my fish all come to the side of the tank and watch me eating in an accusatory manner

i wont eat anything that has lived in water at all, nothing to do with being an aquarist i just hate the taste of the stuff

Unfortunately, I never really thought about like that.

I can eat a lot of fish actually now that i think about it I will eat any seafood for that matter.

I had pet chickens before too but I never really think that i can't eat chicken because I have a pet chicken.(hope that made sense)...unless it is that pet chicken that i'm eating then yah...I won't be able to do it. same for the fish.

I will eat most seafood but would not be concerned if there was a total fish ban for a period of time in order to replemish world fish stocks.
