What are you doing today?

I just finished the last class of "Bring a Grownup To Music Class" days. Whew. Feels like I just did ten concerts in three days. But totally worth the energy. It was a great time. The only thing more fun than seeing kids' faces light up in music class is seeing their parents' faces light up in music class. :)

I used to love seeing the similarities between kids and their parents, except in those cases where the parents are like the ones getting arrested higher up in the thread. The resemblance in their faces is cool, but so too are the personalities.
At 16, I would have sworn I wasn't like my Dad. Now, I feel like I walk in tracks he already made, the same ones his parents made.
A key difference is that he could sing.

The weather outside was indeed as delightful as I knew it would be . Went for my run and , believe it or not , I saw a grasshopper ! The warmth must have aroused him from his winter’s slumber . Come to think of it I’ve seen flies every day this week . Weird .

I like the temperatures but wish we would have more rain for snow in the mountains. If it keeps going like it is we'll be smelling smoke all summer.

We had a wet rainy Nov. So, they lowered the reservoir levels, but we haven't had much rain since. Foggy in am the last week or 2, We need some more rain or mountain snow to get safely through summer drought & fire season.

Juice, I thought you were in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) of US or CA. Now I'm confused. Are you in New Zealand? That's what kiwis means to me...please enlighten me, lol.

just watching the Olympics until the Super Bowl starts.

USA just took gold for the team figure skating. It was a tense finish as going to the last two skaters the USA and Japan were in a dead tie. 21 year old Ilia Malinin, from Venice Virginia, in his first Olympics pulled it off with, I think, three 'Quad Axel' jumps in his final skate. In the history of competitive figure skating he is the only one to ever successfully land this jump.

IcegirlKAT said:
Ilia Malinin’s quad Axel in 2022 stands as one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of quad jumps. Becoming the first skater to successfully land this elusive jump in competition, Malinin’s feat further cements the legacy of quad jumps in men’s figure skating.
Breezy Johnson also got gold for the USA in the alpine skiing women’s downhill.

“Please participate in music,” said Wilson. “Start a band, sing with your church, or just sing in the car with your kids… Music isn’t just for kids or professionals, it’s for all of us.”

That's really punk. Other than the church part. The Church were Goths, not punks.

We were renovating the bathroom today, and the guy doing the main skilled work cut off a goodly chunk of his finger. So today was a run to emergency, and his medical adventures. Man, was the impact shock and then the freezing was done, that must have been painful. I found his fingerprint, frozen in the snow.

He's a tough old hockey player, so I had to talk him out of working tomorrow. Ouch ouch ouch.

I am prohibited by law in a number of states from singing anywhere in public where people might hear me. In most of those states if i did so, it was considered to be a felony........

In the 1970s when I was a partner in the sound company one of my partners was similarly prohibited from singing in public. We came up with a plan to make a tone of money. We were going to rent Madison Square Garden in NYC. We would sound proof it, The we would wire NYC for sound and we would start singing. Then we would charge people a few $100 each to get into the Garden.

Why did they make a law to outlaw twotankadmin from singing in public places ?

It is a fundamental reality of my life that most adults sing much better than they think they do. But if not, well, I've taught beginning clarinets. Nothing offends me anymore. 🎤
