What are you doing today?

I intend to go to a yoga group class on November 9th, it will be in a town square in the city. I hope my right knee gets better by that day, because for now, I have stopped doing yoga. In 2018, while I was dancing (once again...), my right knee suffered a contusion and I fell, crying (without tears, indeed) while on the floor. Dozens of seconds later, I got up and then limped. My former orthopedist said that, if this happened next time, it would be a situation for surgery. Since then, it never happened again. At times, my right knee "threatened" to suffer the same thing, but nothing more happened since. Indeed, it seems that the situation has improved since I started doing weight training in 2022 (thank you, former crush).

For now, I am being as cautious as possible.

Then, no attempts of mine to record, trying to dance some fun House music (but Instagram is now causing lag to my recorded videos when I put some background music...).

Went outside for a bit and ran right back in to grab my camera. I don't know if you will like but this sunset just struck me as pretty awesome.

I'm adjusting to the clock change. I thought I'd reset the bluetooth lights out back, but no. It's lit up like a prison break out there, in the darkness.
It's minus four celsius with a wind blowing, and we have wet snow predicted for the weekend. It might be time to put the summer clothes away.
So I have to go back to winter water changes, with fewer tanks each day, as the tap water will be getting colder. The real cold is coming, and there's no pretending about that. I like early winter - it just goes on too long.
The dog doesn't have a watch, which is why I'm writing this so early.

I had an old thread here about my 60 tank fishroom. Things have changed since the late summer as that would now be a 40 tank tank room, with half those tanks being for breeding and raising young fish. So the winter water changes will be quicker. When the room was mainly killies, the males intolerance of each other meant many 10 gallon tanks. Now that I'm resigned to keeping fewer killies, I need fewer tanks. I'm hoping my upcoming trip to West Africa will get me half a dozen killie species, but I'll be encountering a group (Epiplatys) where males can get along, and where larger tanks shared with dwarf Cichlids or small shoalers work just fine. I'd sell a lot of ten gallons, but they're bought from a central system where their owner had drilled them with too large outlet holes. I got them cheap and patched them all, so they are valueless.

Less time changing water and adjusting tanks means more time for fish watching and hands on fish breeding.

A local auto supply store is selling 20 gallon high tanks very inexpensively - for cheaper than I could make them for. So if I get some, I could get down to 35 or fewer tanks, with larger ones replacing small ones on the racks. Maybe...

Well, I've just stopped labeling a lot of small container where I put my livebearers in during the Vivarium 2025. I locked myself in a room and focused solely on labeling the containers. For every species and strain a different label. It's a very time consuming job. But in a way, I'm also enjoying this task. Nobody around, no phone calls... just me and these containers...
This coming Friday, I'll be very busy with scooping out all those fish.
Reservation messages are still coming in... Visitors who are scared that they may miss out on those fish they desire... The experience throughout the years at this event is that the first hours, my table will be pretty empty... I even have seen how visitors are even fighting to get the fish they want. As if they were still kids... It's amazing to see what they're able to do to get their hands on fish... A bunch of idiots... sorry to say...

Started teaching my students the Ka Mate haka today. A lot of kids going through a lot of stuff and we can all use the courage boost. I talked with a nice Maori lady from the New Zealand cultural ministry, and she said that the Maori view Haka as a gift they give the world; thus it's officially OK for anyone to do Haka, as long as they do it right.
Challenge accepted.

i haven't done much at all today; just the usual nothing i do on tuesday; water changes on 12 aquariums in the basement. Have a long discussion with one of my naughty pet who promised to behave and some grocery shopping. Oh well maybe i'll do something useful later today like take a poop.

This is amazing! I grew up with the haka and it’s a wonderful culture

Got me another freebee from free stuff offered in my apartment lobby by people that offer stuff they no longer need/want for anyone to grab.

I don't really physically need a walking stick but DO like sticks. I thought this one was pretty cool. At just 31 inches it is a bit short but, I think, still cool. :) I really like the color change from the longer part and the grip.

The sweats I ordered are through Walmart. Today I got an email supposedly from Walmart saying that due to a warehouse issue my order would be delayed or canceled. Of course there was a link in the email to fix the issue which I didn't even think about clicking.

Going directly to Walmart.com and checking the tracking everything showed as on schedule. In fact my first pair of sweat pants arrived today.

I'm just posting this to remind others that "the holiday season" is one of the biggest profits for spam and scams. If you ever get an email saying there is an issue with an order NEVER click on an included link. Go directly to the seller's site and check your order status.

Last night we found a tracker on my car and our tire was slashed (we didn’t notice until we were on the freeway and it blew while driving)

I’m so tired of needing to be on edge every waking moment. I want to feel safe again
