What are you doing today?

FIRST --- Wonderful pictures Juice -- You Go!!

Then

Happy Easter to all those who believe!

Here we will have my soon to be 93-year-old Mom, brother and sister-in-law and sister in law's 90-year-old Mom over for din din. We have also taken in two homeless veterans from the shelter for the day, (I volunteer there a afternoon a week as a mentor),

Linda also brought a sweet little dog home from the shelter for the weekend. It was found last week roadside miles from anywhere I am told. No, we are not keeping her. Linda is just trying to acclimate her to people and give her some socialization. Currently she is people shy and Linda says her adoption chances will improve if she comes out of her shell. She goes back on Tuesday. So far, she has gotten along with Buster and Precious although Buster is a bit above the company in his mind.

Spiral Ham, Yams, double baked taters, candied carrots, green salad, stewed tomatoes. Desert will be homemade ice-cream over chocolate brownies. No alcohol due to the veterans being recovering. Linda is making a sparkling berry punch instead and sparkling grape juice at the table. A reasonably warm day for outside games. It will be great.

Way to go, Juice! What on earth is a famous person like you doing, hanging out with a bunch of bozos like us? You are looking lovely, and more importantly, doing some good with the difficult hand you've been dealt.

I suppose they could get the Easter Bunny for littering, technically...but that isn't a felony most places. Just tell him to tone it down when he's in Singapore.

I'll echo @Oldspartan with a big Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate the Resurrection and/or the more ancient trappings of spring, new birth, and renewed (ahem) fertility. (I'm not really into the pagan relics of the holiday that much, though I used to enjoy watching the Badgerling participating in the annual rugby game Easter egg hunt)

We aren't really doing anything special for Easter today, as that is usually Mrs. Badger's department, and she has been sick for a couple of weeks. That's OK with me. The Resurrection is something I try to celebrate every day, so missing the big one doesn't really change anything.

Whatever your convictions about that, here's a sentiment on which I bet we can all agree*: Yippee for Spring!

*at least, those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway

Today I'm helping my wife prepare for a trip. She's going to Nashville for a four day work conference.
Four days left to my own devices. She may come home to a new aquarium, who knows what may happen.

Not likely i live in nashville and i can assure that there is nothing here (fish wise) worth buying.

However if she wants some fishes i have a few extra; but most of the extra require blackwater if that is your thing. Also depending on what she wants she might need to bring her own net as catching them is a real headache.

I do have 3 6 to 8 inch geo albios she is welcome to if she can catch them ;) they dont' require blackwater....

Well I've heard once you go blackwater you never go back.
We're not looking for fish yet, but I'm considering going blackwater for our planned fish stock.

Oh I've got plants. I've been intending to post a tank journal now that's it's nearing the six month mark. Unfortunately real life gets in the way and I keep putting it off till tomorrow.

Tomorrow is always better than today !

Everyone left and brother and SIL took the two old folks home. I took the veterans to the shelter they are staying at. Linda stayed behind and tidied up.

Linda and I will soon be sitting quietly, me with a flute of raspberry mead and Linda with a spritzer. All is good.

I did a massive amount of tank weeding & some water changing. But not all done  or the refilling, just enough to get all the filters happy. My inner upper arm is scraped & bruised from my 24 inch high 110 or 120 g. I tried to remove all stem plants, some I had just thrown in. Some attached to the big wood piece & were growing emersed. It looked kind of nice but really, I've sworn off stems. There are no fish in the tank (yet?) so it gets ignored :(
