Weather

I saw the weirdest thing when I was walking the dog yesterday. It was the stuff we put in fishtanks. Deep in my memory, I think we used to call it freshwater. When the wind blew, it had ripples on the surface, as it sat nestled in the arms of the snow.

Overnight, it returned to a solid state, but where did it come from? Why? What demonic magic is this?

To me water has always been the one natural substance that completely fascinates me . When water is crystal clear and perfectly clean I stare at it in amazement . I run the water way too long when I’m washing dishes or refilling my aquarium change container . I just like to watch it and listen to it . I keep a decorative glass bowl full of water on the kitchen counter just to watch the sunlight hit it . Snow , rain , hail , frost and dew in their infinite combinations are a miracle and that miracle only occurs on one small blue planet in a vast solar system . Now add people to this miracle . We express our appreciation for this gift by flushing our toilets into it , cooling industrial equipment with it and washing cars with it . The most amazing and scarce thing in the universe is nothing more than a waste facilitator to us .

Was the water... I THINK that is what it is called... Possibly over a manhole cover? If so heat caused by sewage could cause but I prefer the demonic magic aspect. ;)

Another 6" of snow today. Then it gets close to 60. Bipolar weather.

67 degrees yesterday for the official high here on the banks of the mighty Yellowstone River and it’s purty danged nice today today . Not a cloud in the sky , warm and no wind . This is the warmest winter I’ve seen since at least 1983 .

The coldest days of the winter will be Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs in mid teens...nightime lows 3 degrees F. With the predicted 30mph winds, the windchill will be way below zero. And we're going to get a few inches of snow on saturday.
Brrrrrrrr

Sheesh . . . are you guys ever going to come out of it back there and get a break ?

Well, today we got 5 inches of snow. I got that cleared out. Winter is now bearing down on us here in the northeast. At 7 am on sunday the temperature will be at 1 degree F. And the wind will be whipping around at 30 mph giving us a windchill of -25 degrees F. I am hunkering down on Sunday and will not leave my warm house. I will bake a nice meatloaf accompanied by mashed potatoes and get prepped for the BIG GAME 🏈 which starts at 6:30 ET. GO PATS!
