Some Ideas For This Tank Plz

have just bought this tank

dims are



Width: 30inches (76cm)

Height: 20inches (55cm)

Depth: 15 inches (38cm)
i make that 147 litres

looking for a few ideas on what to keep in there( common names please)nothing delicate, but think im going to put the tank in the bedroom so something nice and peacefull
no guppies, mollies.. had enough with those recently ( mouth rot)

also would like some advice on that fluval filter, apparently its 4 yrs old.. should i still use it? and anything i should do before i do to try to ensure it dont leak

its tall so would be ok for angels or some dwarf cichlids maybe a pair of rams plus some larger tetra?

yes, the filter should still be good. if it has not been used in a while, you may want to look into lubing the seals. (i personally just replace them, but you may be able to just lube them)

thanks josh, i actually really like angels,be great in a bedroom tank too
what kind of tetra.. ( i have not a lot of idea on little fish as u can tell

but theyre not exactly "peaceful". but then again, neither are angels. they can be pretty mean.

you could go with a bigger tetra such as congo or bloodfin
rummynose and black skirt i think would be ok with angels but if the angels get hungry then who knows
you should be fine with them species because they are bigger than your average neon

yeah ive seen some " having a go" when i had angels last time ( a faulty heater boiled them ) tho i might add the heater i had in the tank was too big.

if i was to have an angel only tank, how many could i have? i think those with tall plants would be nice

Your probably not considering them, but the congo's would be too large for that tank.

Rummy's should be fine with Angels - they get to 2.5'' and if you get Smallish Angels there's less chance of them going for any Tetra.

....Rummy's can last a good long time, with the intensity of the colours indicating their mood / water conditions. As Danny said, I keep a shoal of 10 in with my Discus, which are perfect 'dither fish' companions;

Also, I think Harlequin Rasboras, Pristella Tetra and possibly a couple of Blue German RAM's, or Kribs (Kribensis) would be nice options........ maybe consider a larger tank for Congo Tetras, as they get bigger and like to be in a shoal.

Threadfin rainbow fish are stunning little fish,relatively cheap too and getting easier to find.

thats a lovely tank looks like it could be a seashell tank. certainly looks quality great find. id probably go dwarf cichlids . perhaps a pair of apistos or rams with a shoal of rummy nose. or maybe a species tank for a large shoal of tiger barbs
