Some Ideas For The Boys Tank Please

You could do some snails with it, not sure if you like them or not.
I did not know I would get so much joy out of watching snails but they are really neat

This is my vote. Snails are easy and fun. At least I think they are fun. And it's something he can occasionally take out of the water and hold, which he can't do with the fish. That can help to teach him gentle handling and knowing it has to go back in the water will help teach him empathy.

Red cherry shrimp (if you hover your mouse over any abbreviation with a dotted line under it, on this board, an explanation should come up

)

Thank you I didn't know that :)

Does sound like a good idea can have the cherries as well or would that be too much in it then?

No, that wouldn't be too much, just not as many snails with the cherries just to keep the water cleaner for the shrimp. As mentioned the betta might eat the occasional shrimp if it's small enough. Some betta do, some don't. Once the shrimp start having babies then the little ones will likely be food.

I would personally do a betta, a couple amano shrimp, and a mystery snail.

I'm a little dubious about buying amanos sickbound as have a lot about them being mixed with macros :(

I've heard that you can easily tell the difference by looking at the claws. I think the macro's claws are a lot longer or something like that?

Something like that but think I will stick to the cherries I have had them before I am no expert on shrimps by a long shot haha

Amanos are a good intermediate shrimp. Lets look at it this way. Cherries are a beginner, amanos are intermediate and the Crystal bees and cardinals are for experts

Glofish are pretty easy to keep up with.
I think she said this is for a 25 litre tank which is ~6.6 gallons, as far as I know that's not enough for them since all the ones I can think of need to be kept in groups of 6+?

OP, if you are still going with a betta, maybe to fit with nemo you could find a nice orange one? And agreed on a mystery snail, they get golfball size and are available in a good few colors, very pretty. Not saying others aren't, they are, but I just got one from a friend yesterday and in love with him already. :D

I don't want to overstimulate him at bedtime

He will still be able to see them when the lights are off :(

I have actually been looking at them today some bright purple ones hahaha
Think he would prefer the blue or something similar
An orange one sounds like a brill idea I have been looking and quite like the combtails I think??

Ooh I want a purple one, I got a blue one as my dad's favorite color is blue, hopefully can find them next time we go shopping and I'll get one for our other tank :D
Combtails look nice, I personally have a crowntail. Keep in mind the bigger their tail the heavier it will be and therefore make it harder for them to get around, they also may bite at it.

Is it the veils that are the big flowing ones?? They always seem to look depressed to me
