I had a friend that had two rabbits they were just like dogs really cool. I doubt they will get over a three foot fence. Pretty much on the ground creatures.

That's an old fashioned way of grabbing a rabbit. It stops them biting you but it is painful and damages the ears.

To pick up a rabbit, put one hand under the back feet and the other hand under the chest by the front legs.

No, carrying rabbits by the ears can actually result in injury. This is a short video I watched when I first got a rabbit on how to pick them up.
