Princesscoral's Journal

nice selection of plants...you may want to split them up as they will grow very quickly, especially the vallis mine was growing 1 inch per day at one point and splitting them up will help them bush out, also taking them out of pots will help them dig their roots into the substrate

hi truck,
i have kept them in pots as the sand is not that deep so when the roots spread i will take them out for futher selling

the pump thats in the top left hand corner of your tank.

dont worry though it is a good thing...as it will help prevent dead spots where ammonia can linger...and when that happens algae can grow but with the pump...that shouldnt happen.

Thanks Geoff, I have been away from the world of tropicals a long time, so that was invaluable. So what princcesscoral really needs to do now is get more plants and then add say five small fish?

these are virtually in destructable:

all anubias species
most echinodorus species
all cryptocoryne species
pogosteemon helferi
all species of vallis except nana which requires a bit more care
mosses also

if you want cheap plants that bring good value also seff look at having some delivered from the aquatic room N.B you have to add postage as an option, it is not done automatically.

if you up all of the plants you could add 10 small hardy fish, you would still need to do water changes like a fish in cycle but it wont take as long seeing as youve fishlessly cycled it till now.

if you want more plants i would recommend buying two products:

Tropica plant nutrition+
and
Easy life easy carbo

both are cheapest from fluid sensor online...that way your plants will flourish from the start

Lovely tank there...nanny seffie best watch out now....she's got a lot of competition coming along here I see.....
Well done, it looks really lovely
