The only difference between me and princess is that she forgot to log off and has stayed on till midnight, and I am still online at midnight

i did my first tests today here are my results:

Ammonia 0.00
Nitrite 0.04
Nitrate 1.00

nanny said these show im in my cycle

im going to get some plants tommorow (i will take a few pichers of them)

What Ammonia source are you/your nanny using for the tank's cycling? I'm sure Seffie remembers that the cycle cannot start in a FW tank untill an Ammonia source is present, from food, fish, bottle Ammonia e.t.c

That tank is looking good, but I bet it will look better once your plants are in there too

Indeed, princesscoral has been feeding the tank - i know it is old fashioned, but it works for me, good old prawns etc

She has had her ammonia spike

Might want to add more food, that isn't enough for a full stock of fish, unless the Nitrate is 10.0, rather than 1.0

Aye, but for a filter cycled suffice to take any reasonable stocking, you'd need a bigger build-up of nitrate by this point to say it's safe... Add some more Prawn Seffie, unless Princesscoral is going to be adding like 5-10 smaller fish to start with

1x lobelia cardinalis

i got all of these from pets at home in southend

nice selection of plants...you may want to split them up as they will grow very quickly, especially the vallis mine was growing 1 inch per day at one point and splitting them up will help them bush out, also taking them out of pots will help them dig their roots into the substrate
