Name This Fish?

Hi, i just bought 2 fish from my lfs, he said they were called red firemouths and here in england he sold me it for 2 pound each.

I just want to clarify what they are exactly, there pink and small - pics

Not being rude mate, but pics are sooo dificult to make anything out for certain,, at a quick glace i would say i see a mix of parrot and maybe covict or firemouth, strange, some better shots if possible will help, maybe mind someone here will say that bla bla straight off

My guess would be a Blood Parrot x Convict type fish. I can't see anything that resembles Thorichthys at all...

Very convict looking, calico maybe, not up on cons, very small juvi's

Yeah definately not a Thorichthys mate... so you were mis-sold the fish i'm affraid. Nice though, great colour. What size tank is it?

39 gallon and yes I know, i called him up and he told me the parents were a convict and a blood parrot.

how do i sex them? is there any distinctive ways to tell them apart?

you will have to wait until they mature, they look sooo young still

if they happen to be 2 males or 2 females, will they be okay together?

It depends. Blood Parrots can get to a fair size, so if they inherit more genes from that then the tank wouldn't be big enough for one imo... And if they inherit the aggression of a convict then they will need a fair amount of space.
