My pictus catfish lost its tail plz help

I have to large Oscar's and I left the room after putting them in the tank and when I came back one of the pictus catfish was on the bottom with a half severed tail what should I do.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

If you have another tank with an established filter, move the pictus into that so it doesn't get attacked again.

Monitor the wound for infection. If it goes white and fluffy it has a fungal infection.
If it goes red and inflamed, it has a bacterial infection.

Wipe the inside of the glass and do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate each day for the next week. Clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.

If the tank, filter and water are clean, the would should heal up without any need for medication.
 
Oscars should be kept alone. The pictus willnot work, just so you know. Pictus also need a shoal (five or six minimum) but they willnot survive in with oscars.
