My Peacock Eel Wont Eat!

my peacock eel wont eat and im afraid he'll starve to death! he burrows all day and comes out at night. i feed him at night but he doesnt eat the food. can anybody help!

You haven't had him long have you? You need to give him at least a week to completely settle in. Also, for the record, fish can go many days without eating.

don't worry... they dont eat when you first get them.. and you dont know it but when them lights go off on the tank that eel will eat and scraps at the moment

Have you done any reading about the fish at all? Generally its a good idea to know what a fish eats before purchasing it.

try some live blood
worm or brine shrimp
after lights out

yeah i did. i fed him just what it said but he wont eat it!

Like I said in your previous thread these fish will only eat live foods. Get a pipette and try feeding live bloodworm where he cannot miss it.

uhh.....nothing really............

no......but i did found when ever i put blood worms in the tank for my bgk he goes a little nuts. thats a clue!

what are the water parameters? (pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate ect.

tank size?
