My Guppy Fry Journal

mmm MTS are livebearers so it's not them!
Are they? wow I didn't know that! No wonder I have less of them and more of the others!
Well I have my female endler, there was only one in a tank full of males
She has a pecked tail so I will keep an eye on her. She is tiny, she's the same size as my 8 week old fry lol.

She doesn't have a red fin-the male was next to her lol

They were the best pics I could get, the rest of them make her look like she has red eyes.

As i said i would get pics of the fry,

these fry are originally flame guppies then a female of the flame spawn bred with the leopard guppy. the orange guppies with black markings are the alpha males the ones with yellow and black are either female or one of the two subordinate males.

sorry about the quality the water reflects a bit!

when they are in their own tank I will upload some pics of them in their full glory.

Wow look at their vibrant colours already! How old are they? Mines will be 9 weeks old next week (the 2 that I kept)
Thanks for sharing the pics :)

wow they have coloured up well. I have kept one male and one female. The male has a bright red tail and dorsal fin and body is starting to go red from the tail end. The female has a red and blue tail but no body colour. They will be 9 weeks old on friday I think.

So today I found the leak, it's definitely coming from the lid. I see it dripping as I type. I have taken pics and will put them up tomorrow (I seem to have misplaced the camera  )
I am hearing my filter making chugging sounds every so often so I think I will do my normal water change, then take the filters out and wash them in the tank water in the bucket - is that right? I am not looking forward to it in case I find deceased fry :(
Speaking of fry, my 2 remaining 9 week old fry are getting really big, still waiting for the male to colour up fully, I am just impatient lol.
The smaller fry are 3 weeks old and getting big too. They will be a whole month old on Thursday. Then off to their new homes in another month.

Thats a relief (Phew) I was getting worried for ya...

Yes, that's right. Wash the media gently, mainly by swishing it around in the old tank water to dislodge the mulm. You don't want to be too zealous or you risk disrupting the bacteria colony.

Glad you finally found that pesky leak!

Ok I will be extra gentle with it. Yeah it's coming from the little ridge that you lift the lid with. There is a drip there just now. As someone mentioned earlier something to stop condensation would be good or I will lower the water level.

Glad you found the leak and that is not a crack in the tank....

I can't tell you how relieved I am!
So my babies will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and the others will be 9 weeks on friday. The red male still has no body colour yet. The mollies are back where they belong :( but on the plus side, he brought me over a young calico female because he knows I like them! She is half black, half orange and white.
I did a 50% water change this morning and swished the filter cartridges in the bucket - no more chugging noise :D
Checked my stats just in case I damaged anything but they are spot on :good:
I shall get some pics of the babies up later :)
