My Guppy Fry Journal

I am so sorry to hear that, we lost 2 mollies this week one just this morning but it sounds the same they just stopped swimming, the only thing I can put it down to is the Ich although I never saw any spots on the ones that died...
Oh that's terrible. Sorry :(
I haven't seen any more fry in the main tank so I think I have caught them all.
I am hoping my cobra female drops soon as I am away to Carlisle on the weekend and it will be so typical I will come home to fry!

Hope she drops before you go, I know they were the fry you were really looking forward to.

I know she is the one i'm looking forward to! I am only going for the day I might put her in the net for the day depending how big she is on the friday.

Well that's the fry a whole week old! I have milestones on a thursday (these fry), a friday (the first fry) and a saturday (the remaining fry from her first drop!)
Still have all of them, they are doing great. There seem to be baby snails in the trap the fry are very interested in these lol. They are getting brave they come upto the front when I go to look at them and they are used to the turkey baster as I clean the trap several times a day.
My other guppies come to the front when I go to look at them, they are very social :good:

:) Congrats on all the milestones! I can't wait to have another platy drop! My red wag aborted her last.

Oh i'm sorry that's horrible :( My baby platy is about 3 months old now, he's getting so big. Wild looking just like his mum :)

lol. Oh it was better that way, I am still having some health issues and I wouldn't have saved the fry anyway. She's doing good. Besides theres about 30 platy fry all over my tank right now so it is more then entertaining! haha

You make me want to try out guppies tho.

Cool beans! Well have fun!! :) Give us a wave when you're cruising through :p

I love my guppy fry, i can't wait for the next ones as they are from my males( I hope ) so will be so interesting to see the colours on them.....if they ever arrive!!! I have not ventured into the world of plates yet.....not sure my husband could cope with me obsessing over yet more pregnant fish..oh and they are supposed to be HIS fish..

I hated guppies. I could never keep them alive for more than a few hours, my tank wasn't properly cycled so they kept dying. I used to have platies-very robust, will tolerate anything. I didn't want guppies again but my mate was overstocked so it was helping him out, now i'm overstocked lol but I am loving them again. As Scales9 says-it's the excitement of what colour they will turn out. Most of mines have red bars on their tails, one has a super red tail and that's the one i'm keeping.

Haha I will do, you can't miss me :p

Scales9-the advantage of platies is the females are as colourful as the males. In the hi fins you can get some very striking colours, I had a silver male with black fins and tail. Gorgeous colours.

I know and I keep looking at them but, my tank has guppies and well only one Molly now :-(, so i didn't want to fill the tank with all fish that swim in the middle or top, so am finishing off the tank with Cory's that will add a little something to the bottom. NEED A BIGGER TANK!
