My First Test Results

Well tbh i dont no what to use! i just need help what i should do now ive tested and had my results

I think you should take a look through Ryefishes cycle. If after reading it you feel that it's a process you would be comfortable following then by all means go with that. I'm sure she would be really happy to help you out if you get stuck. If you find it's not for you then arm yourself with a bottle of ammonia and a bloke called Simon and away you go.

Ryefish has helped me alot tbh :)

Take some time out and have a good read of her cycle. It may help you make up your mind.

2.0 is only bad if you have fish in there...

Your ammonia is processing into nitrites which is good and you're nitrites are converting to nitrates so you are well on the way. :good:

You just need to get over this nitrite spike...

Will it sort itself out? or do i need to keep adding Ammonia for now, Or is it possible to add couple guppies and for about a week do a regular change each day.

Because i say this but if you had a fully setup tank already and you noticed nitrite one day you would just do a change of water for a while.

Has you are going through the spike personally i would hang fire before adding fish, fish in cycle is a lot of work, its not a case of a small waterchange each time, with nitrite of 2.0 that would back to back w/c if you had fish in there..

Just my opinion,up to you...

Just read the fish in cycle guide and it says doing 50% water changes daily until it finally goes down, I might just do that and first of all just buy 4 guppies?

Yeah because this is taking to long and im inpatient i no i am

Using fish food as a source of ammonia is a very slow way of cycling a tank. Make sure you read the section in the beginners rescource centre on fish-in cycling, and think carefully about possible repercussions for the fish you are using to cycle the tank. There will be large daily water changes and possibly ammonia poisoning of the fish. are you really prepared to put fish through the stress of this in order to speed things up a little ??

harlequins he hasn't even started yet how could he be going through a spike? I'm a little confused here because you shouldn't have 2ppm of nitrite on your first day of adding fish food/biomature
