Braves fan all the way. Seeing how Acuna is 200% this year, and we have more depth in the field (Mateo, Heim, Yastrzemski, and pitching, Suarez) it is looking really really good this year for our chances of the NL East title. We had the best off-season by far in our division.

I was just about to comment on Acuna saying he's 200% this year- so far in Grapefruit league the bats are HOT- hope they stay that way.

Yep, the team as a whole seems to have a ton of chemistry. Sale did good in his last start. And they also have one of the best records for all spring. Which usually never happens lol.

One of the things I love about Cleveland is how they handle their farm clubs. I don't know why more clubs don't do this but, with Cleveland, ALL minor league clubs from the Rookie League to Tripple-A follow the same basic game game strategy as doe's the big club. This means that the 'rookie' already knows how the main club plays and this results in a much less needed time for transition. As a couple of examples..

• Not many years ago Cleveland needs a left fielder and they bring up Kwan. Even as a rookie he got a gold glove and has done so every year he has played.
• They lose a Platinum Glove second baseman and bring up a rookie that makes the All-Star game in his first year.

There are other examples but you get the point. Due to how the farm clubs are handled Cleveland has gotten the reputation of having the best farm system in the league.

Nice first game for Cleveland; 6-4 over Seattle. From what I saw in spring training and this first game there is no pitcher in the MLB that wants to face the top of Cleveland's order. They can be erratic but tend to win 2 out of 3 games.. that usually works.

As much as I like Jose Ramirez I expect his RBI numbers to drop a bit. Cleveland has a new kid in town. Way to early to say he is a freak of nature but watch out for Chase DeLauter. He pretty much destroyed spring training at the p;ate. He has been so impressive that he was #2 in the batting order on Cleveland's opener against Seattle. All he did was to hit two homers for three RBI.

Not bad for his first ever MLB game.

Chase DeLauter gets another homer in the 10th to beat Seattle 6-5. That gives him 4 homers in 3 games. Not a bad start for a rookie.

Somehow lost the second game, to the A's last night. Hopefully will do better in the rubber match today with Sale on the bump.

On a side note, Drake Baldwin is raking! 3 dingers, 5 games. He might be in MVP voting by the end of the year.

Cleveland just finished winning the Dodgers series 2-1 on the road. Before the season started I hoped for Cleveland to come out at .500 after the first 10 games. After the first 7 games against the Mariners and Dodgers they are 4-3. One win in the 3 game series against the Cubs and they give me my .500. All 10 games to start are against 2025 playoff teams with the first 7 on the road. The 3 game series against the Cubs will be their first home games.

Way too early to judge but the starting pitching has been better than I expected to see from the preseason. For instance, in tonight's' 4-1 win over the Dodgers's, Gavin Williams pitched 7 innings of 2 hit shutout ball.

We watch the Yankee games here. In the 1950s as a young boy I always rooted for the underdog. While all my friends were yankee fans I was a Tiger's fan. They always finished behind the yanls. But baseball was simpler back then. Two leagues and the winners of each played in the world series. No play-offs and a wild card was something which involved a poker game.

It is a very long season. Numbers begin to matter around the All-Star break. You can talk to me then about the numbers.

Red Sox host their home opener on Friday against the San Diego Padres. Padres are 2 wins 4 losses, Sox are 1 win 5 losses. Both teams are off to a bad start. Should be an evenly matched game which will make it more interesting. Weather will be cloudy, breezy and 64 degrees. I'll be watching the game.
