Our Phillies won today. We smoked the Rockies 10-1!! Early days but nice.

Red Sox won their home opener against the Padres. . Sonny Gray gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings in his first game of the season. The relief pitching was perfect .. no hits in 3 innings. I watched the game on a huge screen at the senior center. Lots of refreshments and cheering seniors. Good fun!

Cleveland also won their home opener on Friday 4-1 over the Cubs. Today's game was rained out so, if weather permits, I'll have a double header on Easter.

Too many RISP last night to not cash in. Lost 2-1. But props to Bryce Elder, two awesome starts in a row, to bad he had no run support. Hopefully will take the series game today.

Thrilled by Cleveland's start. Earlier I said that I'd be happy with a 5-5 record in the first 10 games but they beat that going 6-4. It has to be remembered that 7 of the first 10 games were on the road against 2025 playoff season teams including a 2-1 series win against the 2025 World Series winner Dodgers. They just finished winning a series against the Cubs, also a 2025 playoff team.

Something I don't get is that MANY fans seem to think that these early games mean nothing but, in my opinion, a win or loss early is just as important as a win or loss late in the season. They ALL count.

A wise person once said it isn't about winning games but winning series. Cleveland has yet to lose a series going 2-2 against Seattle and win 2-1 in both the Dodgers and Cubs series. These are all 2025 playoff teams but so was Cleveland.

Overall I'm quite happy with Cleveland's start.

It's too early for me to be fully invested in the baseball season. Once NBA and NHL playoffs are over it's baseball season.

Can't seem to be able to get into the NBA or NHL. I'm baseball and football.

Cleveland's third baseman Jose Ramirez will set another club record today. He will set the record for the most games played for the club. And more is to come. Jose is signed through 2032 and will finish his career in Cleveland unless they trade him which I can't see happening as he is the heart of the team. He will probably be a first ballot Hall of fame entry. The guy is a freak of nature and a consistent runner-up for MVP. He has 6 Silver Slugger awards as one of the MLB's best hitters and plays a GREAT third base.

Miserable day for baseball in Cleveland today against KC. Cleveland won 2-1 with a walk off RBI in the bottom ninth. It was sunny but the game time temperature was 33F.

Cleveland just seems to have a knack for bring up rookies. I think it has a lot to do with having the same game strategy from their rookie league to the big club. This means that rookies coming up have less to learn as they already know how to fin in their scheme. At the start of the season they bring rookie Chase DeLauter at right field and he hits, I think it was, 4 homers in his first 5 games. Today they bring up Juan Brido to replace an injured 2nd baseman. His first at bat in the MB and he rips a double; he also had a single going 2-4. I believe that a lot of the rookie success is due to how they run the farm system. Of biased but truly believe that Cleveland has the best farm system in the league. don't understand why other teams don't follow this example.

W.hat a day at the plate for Cleveland's outfielder, Angel Martinez!! Four hits including 2 singles, a double and throw in a grand slam to finish in a 10-2 win over KC.

Cleveland is now 8-5 and in first by 2 games... not that standing mean much this early but they have not lost a series and have done well against 2025 playoff teams including a 2-1 series win against the Dodgers.

Anyone in the farm system they can call up? The farm clubs are a big reason that Cleveland has been really good since the 1990's. They also seem to do well with trades. Sherman, set the Wayback Machine to 1997. Cleveland trades one of the best outfielders in the league, Kenny Lofton, to Atlanta for David Justice. On the surface that sounds good but was even better. Lofton was in his option year and come 1998 he is right back in Cleveland. Cleveland ends up with both Kenny Lofton and David Justice. This had to be planned with assurance that Lofton would resign with Cleveland.

While not having the farm system Cleveland does they are still a VERY good organization and I'm sure they will come up with some pitchers. Will they make the World Series? I doubt it but would not be at all surprised if they still make the playoffs.

Yep. I love college football, college baseball (15 billion times better than MLB as far as crazy games), college bball, (congrats to Michigan on the title, and MLB. But MLB is my fav, always has always will be.

So true. I think he is just a natural at the sport. Also appreciate him putting Tim Anderson's butt on the ground.
You know who else is a freak of nature? The right now RBI leader, Rookie of the year 2025 Drake Baldwin. Personally, I think he is going to be in MVP voting by the end of the year. Most consistent player (aside from Freddie Freeman, his avg is always 300, past braves hero) on the planet right now. 17 hits, 15 RBIS. .321 avg, what?? I know it is only over 10 games in this year, but it is not just this year. The guy won the ROY in 25; his stats were awesome. 111 hits. 80 RBIS. 274 ba (not bad for a rookie), a OPS+ of 127. Amazing. Not to mention a great defensive catcher as well. He has come in clutch already this year. In the Royals series he went off. Sadly I only think he is the guy I can trust for a 2 out man on 2nd situation when your down by a run. He just gets it DONE.

Against the Angels Walt Weiss showed off his football skills. He DRILLED Jorge Soler!!! Unreal!!! That is by far one of the biggest brawls in the MLB in the last few years, I mean, they were throwing punches for a good time there, until Walt got low and put Soler on the grass. On a side note, Grant Holmes, and Lopez did great in their starts. Also, Riley and Acuna Jr finally woke up. Acuna has had a rough go at it thus far, but when he gets going on all 4 cylinders you cannot tell me he is not one of the greatest players in the game. Honestly, I would put him pound for pound up there with Ohtani. We all know what he did in 23.

Braves are 8-5, and have not lost a series yet. Leading NL east. I pray we keep it going.
