Male or female?

I’m not sure if it’s still too young , around 4 inch but could anybody tell me if it’s male or female
I’m guessing female as it’s fairly plain but don’t know weather that’s because it’s still juvenile

I would say female based on the fins and face squiggles. Can’t quite tell from the pic but this could be a notatus or spotted Severum looking at this pic.

Looking at the finage, I'd say female. But yes, young males do like females as well.

it's only a juvenile and you can't really sex them until they mature. Even then they aren't the easiest fish to sex unless they are breeding.
