If Any Australian Member Could Help.

From memory, there's always a number of Australian themed cards on sale (usually in boxed sets) leading up to Christmas, depicting the country, bush (forest) or outback, Santa dressed down in thongs (or on a surfboard as previously suggested) and perhaps Reindeers substituted for Kangaroos. Quite novel and stereotypical, if anything.

However, despite Australians celebrating Christmas in summer, you'll find an overwhelming majority of our cards are reminiscent to those found elsewhere around the world; Mary & baby Jesus, Santa, Reindeers, snow, Christmas trees, wreaths, etc etc. According to the cards our family send out, the cards we receive and those I've seen sprawled in various families/friends/neighbours houses I visit during December/early Jan, I don't think it's much different :good:

i hope this doesn't offend but...what's the australian definition of thongs? in america thongs are skimpy underwear for women  and some men. :/ usually with a little triangle in the front and dental floss in the back. i'm not sure i could recover from a visual of santa in a string bikini. please forgive my ignorance

It's like in the states pants are the things that you wear to fully cover your legs and to the english they are trousers and pants is underwear that completly covers your bum n bits. x

If that makes sense?

Apparently the result of good genes or exercise, as for what she is wearing....no clue. :p

Sorry couldn't resist.

This thread is amusing,

Generally in Australia we call thong underwear G-strings.

And yep, thongs are flip-flops. Always have been, and always will be I think. As much as it amuses people from other countries when we talk about them... hehehe.
