How To Heat Multiple Tanks

I just got 4 small tanks (24x11x10 inch) for breeding. I will hook them up to air driven sponge filters so that is nice and cheap. But how can i heat them all?

Is the best option to buy 4 individual heaters? This is not so cost/electric friendly Any other hints or tips?

If 4 heaters are my best option, what should i go for? I have a couple Elite heaters already. But any other manufacturar good, reliable, and cheap?

don't know if its been done before but you could try putting the tanks side by side, and apply thermal grease between each tank for good heat transfer(instead of loosing it into fat air), then to make it even more efficient insulate the sides bottom and back of the tanks with polystyrene. again, havn't heard of anyone trying this but i reckon it'd be worth a red hot go

Hmm, it would help to keep the spark bill down, but i'd still need to buy 4 heaters. There wouldn't be enough heat transfer to heat a whole aquarium through that method...

Could try connecting all the tanks if the fish are compatable and have a fairly high powered heater at one end while the water goes towards the other end and repeats from square one
