Thanks everyone. Seffie i will get my mum a card and some choc on saturday. (i think) The shell is one from a bad i brought. The hermit crabs i brought seem to be a bit of a mystery. When i look at them in the tank they look like dwarf zebra hermit. but somtimes they look like a blue leg type but green so i there such thing as green leg hermits? I would recomend a book called the 101 best marine invertebrates by Scott w. Michael. plus it has 33 species to avoid. its very good. maybe some of the star fish tank sizes are very small. Beacuse in this book he says the min tank size for each invert.

i am looking to set up a tank like yours. i like your tank really coming to life now i was wondering if you chould tell me the measurements of the inside of your stand. so i can plan my sump and equipment before i start buying anything. would you drill the tank if you started again or stay using an overflow box.

i would drill the tank if i stated again.
because of the way the cabenet is built the biggest sump you could have would be 50cm long and 25 cm wide. but you could buy a fuval cabenet its built diffrently so you could have more space. my sump was an old tank i had its very small but i have the skimmer and refugiuam in there so its worth it. my sump was this tank http/www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquariums/viaaqua/viaaqua-va380-aquarium-black.html i got it cheaper than that it was on offer in my lfs for £30

thanks. ok everyone today i am not buying any marine stuff for once im buying just cause 2 for my ps3 i had the first one on the xbox 360 and that was fun but the 2nd one looks way better. but in the easter break im going to buy a purple dart fish ........ and some coral....... and maybe another peppermint shrimp. just like to say i am getting the limited edition one because you get a hovercraft

Forgot to say Harry nice Emerald a little yip with them once all algae is gone they will eat normal stuff in the tank but might start going white to stop this add a little Nori to your tank once a week needs not be much
