Hi All,
I apologize for any stupid questions or assumptions in this post, please correct me on everything.
I have a Juwel Lido 120 litre aquarium with an internal filter, tropical setup and three juvenile red bellied piranhas. Any way the RBPs will soon outgrow the tank and I will want to convert it to a marine setup when this happens.
My question is;
Is the following checklist of equipment suitable for a marine setup:
- Tank (120L)
- Testing Kit (Ammonia, PH, Nitrate and Nitrite)
- Net
- Blue Marine Lighting
- Refractometer
- Powerhead
- ProteinSkimmer
- Aragonite Sand
- Reef Salt
- Live Rock
I ve been doing some research and my idea if I have understood correctly is that with live rock and substrate a filter is not necessary at all as the rock and substrate will form a biological filter that will be more than adequate.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Also how do I setup a protein skimmer and will I require any external containers for waste/water.
Thanks
