This is my sister’s female betta fish. She has never been in another tank with a male betta and she eats and moves around fine.. I initially thought it was just constipation, but now I’m not too sure. I don’t think it’s dropsy either because her scales are fine, but I’m still not sure. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Has she held off on feeding for a day or so? To see if constipation or overfeeding is the answer. Maybe try a salt method to help if that doesn't. A lot I'm finding with bloating is to use salt treatments. (Not table salt)

I will tell her to try epsom salt, thank you!

How long has the fish been fat like that?
What does the fish's poop look like?
What are you feeding it and how often do you feed it?
