Car with harmonic engine

That explains it. I was picking up Chinese food yesterday and a car pulled in next to me that was making a quiet "siren" sound.
Seeing as how my truck is 20 years old I thought something ELSE had gone wrong but when I shut it off the sound continued.
Someday maybe I'll be able to get my old R90 to belch out Ride of the Valkyries.:band:

When the dust settles, maybe electric cars will low volume chug out the recorded sounds of a seventies Camaro with a bad muffler.

The idea of a very quiet car where you can really listen to music when you're driving distance is really appealing to me. Most motor chugging and squealing is for the pleasure of the car owner, and just cosmetic. We need sounds that aren't annoying, but present as a heads up as tech evolves and we move on. Maybe we should record Amish horse and buggy sounds. My grandfather, who delivered milk with a horse for a short time as a teenager, said the clip clop and horse breath sounds were better than muscle cars.

I think it was rumored that my SS sedan has a pick from the exhaust to the stereo, when you hit the bypass muffler mode, so it's also louder in the car... but the exhaust can make or break the sound of a vehicle
