dosent look too bad... How about replacing the substrate to sand?? And the plastic plants to live ones? Then the tank would look much better imo. More natural aswell. :good:

I like gravel, I like your tank but maybe loose the plastic mermaid and a few of the red plastic plants

Wouldn't it get clogged and wouldn't it get sucked into my filrter?

never happened to me - not saying it wouldnt. your have to see what other people say.
just make sure you wash it loads and loads before you put it in otherwise it makes the water cloudy.

If you have got an under gravel filter i proberly would not bother but any other filter is fine, when you first put sand in leave the filter off for a hour or so to let the worst of it settle and therefore your filter will not suck it in to much, after that it is easy :good:

Replace the gravel with sand. Your filter will be ok at long as the intake is a couple of inches above the sand. Cleaning it easy, just hover the hose above the sand and the debris gets sucked up.

Lose the tacky plants, ornaments and background. If you must have fake plants, get silk ones. Get real rocks, they look better and are cheaper. Get a decent background, even just plain black will be an improvement.

Move your themometer to the side of the tank, out of view.

Remove or box off the clutter under the tank, and don't leave a net on top of it.

Pauly.

I got a fluval 3 plus would that be okay?

i see no reason why not, i put a layer of eco complete under my sand for the plants, it works really well and trust me about the play sand its safe and looks really good and its cheap :good:

yea i used the play sand as well - the stuff they sell in the lfs is so expensive and looks exactly the same in my opinion!
i also read somewhere that u need to stir up the sand weekly as it gets pockets of toxins. so i do this anyway just incase but have never heard anyone mention it since so dont know if its true or not!
