I have a 20 gallon tank and really want an oscar. I found them at Petsmart and they are actually not that big to start with.
Would it be okay temporarily until i upgrade within the next year?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no. Tiger oscars love swimming and growing. They would outgrow a 20 gallon in less than a year.

I would really advise against this, they can easily grow a foot per year so it would be quickly outgrown, not to mention they like to have lots of swimming room.

No! They poop a lot, they grow a lot and swim a lot!

Okay... i wont. I will consider them when i get a bigger tank. Thanks everybody!

Not a problem :)  everyone on here is always here to help if you ask!. We all have to start somewhere, even the most knowledgeable person knew nothing at one time. :p
