Hi, is my 100 litre big enough to breed auratus cichlids?
My tank is furnished with rocks, a pot, driftwood & plants
how many fry do they have at each brood?

Will i get 1male & 3 females

Edit: I have gone of this idea (I am now either getting kribs or dwarf flag cichlids)

Thanks

Although extremely colorful and widely available, M. auratus is not a good choice for the novice at keeping Malawi cichlids. Males are extremely aggressive and the dominant one will try to kill any other males of its species, as well as females if they are not in spawning condition or are not provided with adequate hiding places. Only one male should be kept per aquarium, and at least three or, preferably, four or five females provided.
To be kept successfully, at least a 55 gallon aquarium well provided with rocks or other cover is advisable

Quote from a cichlid forum article on the fish. Do some research JRD!

I think all of your questions have been answered in your post about convicts. Please could you actually research this fish.

What do you mean back to topic? I was just suggesting that you research this fish aswell and take a look at your convict post, as there is advice on there about auratus.

BTW, I know nothing about Auratus but I know how to use google to find information in about 5 min flat on a specialist cichlid forum....

Trouble is some people don't read what they don't really want to know.

No offense intended to you JRD but this does seem to be quite a repetitive cycle.
