Betta tank ideas

There was this one plant that I absolutely loved, and would really like in my betta tank. I believe the name started with A and it was larger, with broad leaves perfect for a betta to rest on. A subspecies might be called nano?

Also, while I've got you guys here I'm nervous about this water change. Hank is due for one (I read one forum and now I'm absolutely terrified of dropsy) but now I can't get it out of my head that he got so sick because I was doing them wrong. Is it okay to dechlorinate after the water has been added? Additionally, my current water change tool is a maybe 2 gallon trash can. Will it put him back into shock to do the 3-5 trips it takes, both for removal and addition? I can siphon water out with my new gravel vac if that would help

No, it’s not ok to add the water before it has been de chlorinated. It must be de chlorinated before you add it to the tank.

You're thinking of Anubias.

No, it’s not ok to add the water before it has been de chlorinated. It must be de chlorinated before you add it to the tank.

That's really good to know, thank you. Juicebox just told me to add the full dose beforehand too, so I'm glad that I asked before I did it. That may be why he stayed so sick.

I strongly suggest getting some. It helps reduce algae and betta love to rest on it.

Tell me about it! I just collected a gallon+ of Anacharis trimmings from my 29g tank.

Anacharis can grow faster than my cat pees

Best if all, it’s super easy to grow. It’s actually a weed.

Super off topic but I was sitting in my chair in front of the tank, getting ready to shut the lights off, and I jokingly said "you ready to go to bed Hank?" to which he immediately swam down to rest on his bridge.
