White Build Up

I just got my freshwater tank running again after a lengthly move. I let it cycle then added four fish (2 then 2 a week later). Lately there has been a white build up on the glass that can be cleaned off with a pad, but it returns in about 3 days. i've added some algea killer and also stress coat along with freshwater salt. what is this and how can i combat it???

What are your water parameters? Where is it building up, above or below the water line or everywhere? What does this stuff look and feel like ... pics?

Yeah, as pasta says, this could be a lot of things depending on a better description.

It could even just be simple biofilm, which can look white after a while, although you usually see it more on rubber suction cups and things rather than on the glass.
