recntly became a mbuna owner ( juvie salousi) and boy do they like to be fed! ive read all the info regarding not feeding to often and veg based diet only etc.
my question is sometimes one or two look visably fatter after a feed, guess theve got a little more than the others.i understand bloat is mainly due to the wrong diet, but could i be over feeding? i give a small pinch of veg flake morn and night, sometimes green food in stead of flake

mbuna do look fat after feeding espcially on pellet but as long as after a few hours or so it goes dont be alarmed.

Mbuna are absolute pigs and will cram as much food in their mouths as possible. So yes, they will look fat after feeding. If you are concerned about overfeeding, you can fast them 1 day a week.
