Whats the job of an Aqua One AirPod 240

Hi, I was given an Aqua one airpod 240 from what I can make out it just provides air to the fish tank. So my question is do I need it if I have an Ocellaris 1400 canister which pumps the water in to the tank creating air bubbles.

No you don't need it. But keep it in the cupboard.

It can be used for an air powered sponge filter, should you ever want to use one.
It can be used if we ever get another record breaking summer like 2022 to help keep the tank water oxygenated. Warmer water holds less oxygen; using the pump with an air stone turns the water over faster allowing more oxygen to dissolve.
It can be used if you ever need to treat ich with temperature for the same reason (to treat ich, the water is heated to 30 deg C temporarily)
