I'm sitting at work waiting to be free so I can go home and bother my flower anemone to get it to release from its rock so I can put it in another tank. ( I started at 7 and wish I was home already )
BTW, I don't want the rock just the anemone.

I am also abusing the new work policy "you can't use your phone, but we are ok with you using the internet on down time".
Lol, there is a bit of down time right now.

I just used liquid cyanoacrylate for the first time today for hardscape. What a smell. I found it a lot easier to use than the gel stuff. Though for plants Ill be using gel & weights as I can easily see the liquid covering the rhizome and roots.

I’ve never said anything before but using glue underwater doesn’t seem like such a good idea . I know guys do it but some guys jump off cliffs too . Won’t that chemical glue dissolve and leach out poisonous stuff ? Ah . . . maybe no worse than silicone sealant . I’m even questioning the wisdom of sponge filters now with all this scare about microplastics going around . I might go back to the old tried and true box filter or , better yet , the Undergravel Filter . UGF is and always has been my favorite but I abhor substrate so that presents a problem .

The liquid glue is used out of water, as I would not trust it either. Dry cotton wool is used between the contact points so the chemical reaction has a larger surface area. It's honestly like concrete when it sets. You can use "accelerator sprays" to speed up the process, but I prefer not to. I covered the cotton wool with crushed aqua soil, which gives it a clean and natural look. The gel, on the other hand, is different. I have glued anubias to rocks before throwing them in a container of water for 10 mins to set, then immediately added them to an aquarium. I've never had any issues occur, and that tank has sensitive neo shrimp.

The microplastics issue is getting worse. Lots of aquarium equipment and products we use are going to contain them. Even a few months back, I bought a generic pot of flakes to find sherds of blue plastic at the bottom. I would not be surprised if the fish we keep have trace elements inside them.

Ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate, Super Glue, is totally safe in a fresh water aquarium. Not sure about salt water.

I'm not a bird watcher, but I'm not a fool either. I keep an eye out for new to me things out there. I just saw something I hadn't noticed before while walking the dog. I didn't have my phone with me to identify it from song with the merlin app, so I'll get the identification book out and figure out its name. Birds are like air tetras - colourful and free. We're like corys, snuffling along the substrate, but unable to reach the surface without machinery.

I thought there's be more birds migrating along my coastal habitat, but it's quiet most Springs. Today is beautiful out there - early green and vibrant. I have to fix the deer fencing for the vegetable garden - a quick job with my daughter here to help with attaching the replacement screening.

Then I think I'll take care of the fish, and go to a garden centre just to look at the daylilies.

Yesterday, we went to one of my favourite fishroom supply places, IKEA. There are many practical things in those stores. I got first rate lidded killie egg holders, and glass to make two tanks.

Same as @GaryE for me today . Watching the beautiful spring weather take hold and the trees slowly leafing out into their summer glory . The other day I was out for a walk and happened upon some kind of crane and its mate and chicks . The male made some kind of warning sound at me while the female herded her chicks away . I felt like the luckiest guy ever . It was so cool .

Today is a bit on the blustery side weather wise so I shall occupy myself with water changes and general fish watching . Nothing much on TV either and that suits me too . Lately I’ve become too addicted to it and I think that’s a waste . My days are much more enjoyable going in and out of the house with buckets of water and watching the trees and birds this time of year . The days come and go so quickly that it’s a shame to sit watching a glass tube when I could be breathing and moving .
