What are you doing today?

You guys have never heard of winter biathlon ? It’s Nordic skiing and target shooting . It came from Scandinavian countries where they have troops who do this . It’s very difficult because the skier is out of breath from the ski racing and has to calm himself and shoot well . I think @WhistlingBadger could have his own version with snowshoes and a bow .

Do they shoot as they are skiing. Doesn't sound too safe. Skiing is difficult enough and target shooting takes steadiness. I can't see safely doing both at the same time.

No , it’s like ski racing and then there’s a predetermined spot where they stop and shoot . You only get so long to shoot before you have to start skiing again . You can take too long and time out and have to start skiing again and then you’d have your shooting score dinged . You’re scored on marksmanship and race speed together .

That doesnt surprise me at all . The Finns especially, they didnt have a world record sniper named "The white death" for any other reason.

The White Death ! That sounds like an abominable snowman movie . But , yeah , it’s a real thing over there and it got into the Olympics .

They drop onto their bellies in the snow to shoot.

It's a military sport, and one of the very old ones in the Olympics. I had a student who was in the Reserves/Cadets, and who was highly ranked in it for her age group.

Carnival up here has ended, and the snow and ice in Quebec were waiting for Brazilian dancers, @Lanpenn ! As far as I heard, none showed up.

You could have stayed in the ice hotel, on a bed made of... ice. It's quite beautiful in there.
I have never seen snow in my entire life. It was always something that fascinated me about American and Canadian animated series I used to watch on a free-to-air television network during my childhood. In case of the ice, I have seen some hail that occurred here, but this is not so common in Mococa. In Muzambinho, the car I used, however, was perforated by powerful hailstones. Since it is an extremely entry-level car, the repair did not become so expensive.

It is easier for me to date a model than to see snow where I live. I have heard about Mardi Gras in Louisiana, but I do not have any idea what it is. There must be several interesting events across the United States, certainly.

Some pictures that I took inside the bar (or restaurant? Google Maps says that it is a restaurant). I have only drank water and Coca-Cola:

24/7 drunken debauchery for weeks, until Fat Tuesday, which is when the party REALLY gets going. New Orleans is kinda seedy the rest of the year but the people are friendly and so accommodating. Creole women are AMAZING, the food is great, but I wouldn't want to live there. Definitely worth the visit if you ever get to the states.

Decided to splurge a little. I've been loving these. They serve no purpose other than that they're freaking cool LOL.

[EDIT] Just so everyone knows, these are fake and are not real weapons

Thought of Assassin's Creed straight away!

Well, that's a bit disappointing. I could see all kinds of applications around the kitchen...and on the Badgerling's date night...
