What are you doing today?

I love MeTV. @Back in the fold , do you get the old Perry Mason series on that channel out there? We get it twice a day here, early morning and late at night, two different episodes. If you do, and you are on a similar schedule, in two days the morning episode will be "The Case of the Glittering Goldfish" which is a loveletter to the hobby in the 1950s. There's at least one vintage aquarium in every scene, even the courtroom. And some very inside baseball dialogue such as, "He has the libido of a guppy," and "The red bettas have arrived from Hong Kong." I think you'd enjoy it.

I've come to the conclusion that this forum is my version of TV, as far as time usage goes. But when I'm really stressed and want to turn my brain in different directions, I watch early seasons of Time Team, a British show I discovered during the pandemic.

Bad haircuts, but good TV.

There was a Time Team filmed a couple of miles away from us but everyone in the know kept very quiet about it till it was broadcast. As the location was in a field it didn't attract much attention. Look out for the High Worsall episode :)

@Innesfan I love Perry Mason . We get it twice a day here too . I’ve never seen that episode but I will most certainly keep an eye out for it . @WhistlingBadger Emergency is great TV . It’s from the era where they used location shooting and real stunts by real stuntmen . I do , however , think they could have given Robert Fuller a cowboy hat . He looks so out of character in that white coat .

Here in NY metro, "The Case of the Glittering Goldfish" is on this Monday morning October 13th at 9AM.

It’s time you learned how to use smart tv apps/channels. There are tons of free stuff to watch, often on demand to watch what you want when you want to watch it. Apps such as Pluto , Tubi, and many others are totally free. If your tv is not a smart tv, get yourself a roku stick on amazon during prime day and learn how to use it.
Also if you need more variety or want to watch a specific series or a wide range of movies, you can pay a few bucks for access to apps like Netflix, Max, paramount or other pay apps. If there is a specific movie you want to watch, you can find it for free or for a few bucks via the smart tv app or via a roku stick.

You can buy an hd roku stick with voice remote for just $18 right now on amazon during prime day.

@Fishmanic I do have a Smart TV and I have a good strong internet source so I could probably make that work . $ 18 bucks for the Roku thing and FREE stuff to watch ? That sounds reasonable . I would like to see Star Trek : Strange New Worlds and some of the good older movies like they have on Turner Classic Movies .

If you’re tv is smart, you may not need the roku as you may have app access built in already. It may just be a matter of learning how to use it. What brand and model tv do you have. I can check the type of app access your tv has.
There are several apps that have many classics movies for free.

On the remote clicker hit the Home button that usually looks like a house. This should bring up everything available. Some will be free and, others, subscription.

Strong Internet is nice but you really don't need that much to stream.

It’s a Samsung something and it’s pretty old . It has what they call a Smart Hub and I can call up a few places but they charge you .

If it just has limited app access, then get the roku stick to access to the full world of streaming apps. You can probably get instructions for using it on youtube. Does the tv have a usb port which is needed to attach the roku stick?

On most smart tvs, you usually have to manually add the apps you want to use. Even a roku will need you to add the apps but it may give you suggestions or may list popular pay apps. There are literally 100s of apps available, many totally free. How old is your tv?

Many movies that Svengoolie features are available on demand for free with limited advertising.. much less advertising than on metv.
